Elizabeth “Lizzie” Albert (1839-?)

Lizzie Albert was born in 1839 in Pennsylvania. Lizzie moved to Putnam County, Illinois at an early age. She married Joseph Daily in 1856. By 1859, they had moved to Iowa. During that time they had 2 children. John W. was born in 1859 and Willie E was born in 1865.  By 1870, Lizzie and her family had moved back to Putnam County, Illinois and settled in the little village of Florid, which is 4 miles southeast of Hennepin. She was listed in the 1870 Putnam County Census, Hennepin Township along with her husband, Joseph and two sons.  Another son, Daniel was born about 1872.

Tragically, Lizzie's son John W. died after a long illness in February of 1873 at their home in Florid, Illinois. After their son’s death, Lizzie and Joseph decided to move to California. Her husband never made it there. He died in 1874 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.  By 1880, Lizzie was living in California.  She had remarried to Lard Honsman and had a daughter, born about 1879 in California.  The 1880 federal census shows Lizzie with husband Lard and children, Daniel A. Dailya and Myrtle Edna Honsman living in Nevada, Nevada county, California.   At the time of her brother Joseph's death, in February 1925, his obituary listed a sister living in California (possibly Lizzie?).  Also descendents of Moses B. Daily (Lizzie's brother-in-law) can remember Moses speaking of a nephew who was an actor in Calfornia.
