Sophia Cassell Albert (1816-1845)

Sophia Cassell was born on November 23, 1816 in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.  She was baptized on January 26, 1817, Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Annville, Lebanon, Pennsylvania.  In 1836, she was given 1/3 of ther aunt, Esther Berry’s house in Annville, Pennsylvania to live in. Sophia married John Albert in Pennsylvania sometime after that and before1838. They had 5 children, David, Jacob, William, Catharine and Margaret. Sophia lived her entire life in Pennsylvania and died early at the age of 28 on December 1, 1845 in East Hanover, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.

David Albert (1840 - 1919)

David Albert was born on June 21, 1840 in Pennsylvania. In the early 1880's and 1900's he lived for awhile in Putnam county Illinois where he worked for his cousin Owen Allen as a farm laborer. In 1907 , David inherited $600 from his uncle Henry Cassell.  At that time he was living in Decatur, Illinois.  David was married for 15 years and was widowed by 1910.  In 1910 he made a living making and selling ice cream in Decatur, Illinois.  At sometime during his life he was a Teamster.

Apparently he wasn't very good with money because he died destitute.  About 12 months before his death he went to live at the county farm in Macon County, Illinois.  Before he went to the county farm, he had lived with his niece Mrs. Charles Bobb. The Wednesday before his death, he was taken to the hospital, where his death occurred from TB. He was buried in the Greenwood cemetery, Decatur, Macon County, Illinois beside his uncle, Thomas Albert.

Margaret Albert (1840-?)

Margaret Albert was born about 1840 in Pennsylvania (probably in Dauphin County).  Sometime before 1869 she married Benjamin Lingle.  Benjamin had two children from a previous marriage, William and Catharine.  Margaret and Benjamin had at least 8 children.  They were Amos, Emma, Clara, David, Freeman, Mary and Daniel.  In 1880, they were living in West Hanover, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania where Benjamin worked as a farmer.  By 1907, Margaret was living in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  She would have been about 67 years old. Nothing else is known at this time.

Catherine Albert (1838-1915)

Catharine Albert was born on June 24, 1838 in Pennsylvania.  Her mother died when she was only 7 years old.  Sometime before 1857 Catharine moved to Decatur, Illinois.  She married Alfred Chandler on April 14, 1857 in Decatur, Illinois.  Catharine and Alfred had eight children.  They were Charles W., William A., Elmer E., Esther M. (Sheets), Louis Grant, Ella Myrtle (Bobb), Birdie Maude (Ware), Lil (Graham), and Cloyd A.  

Catherine and Alfred lived in Decatur, Illinois their entire lives.  Alfred working as a carpenter and cabinet maker most of his life.  Alfred died sometime before 1915.  Catherine died on May 01, 1915, Decatur, Macon Co. IL.  After her death she was laid to rest in the Greenwood cemetery, Decatur, IL.
