Robert Byers (1794-1868)
Robert Byers was born March 08, 1794 in Landen, Pennsylvania. On December 23, 1819, he married Catharina Cassell at the Salem Lutheran Church in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The marriage record stated that they were both from Annville, Pennsylvania.. About 1837, Robert and Catharine emmigrated to Putnam County, Illinois.
In 1850, Robert was living in Florid, Putnam County, Illinois, where he had purchased land and made a living as a farmer. He continued living there until at least 1860. Some of his children moved to Jessup, Iowa. Robert and Catherine may have moved there. He died on March 4, 1868 in either Putnam County, Illinois or Jessup, Iowa.

Sarah Byers was born on July 19, 1819 in Millerstown, Pennsylvania. Around 1837, her family immigrated to Florid, Putnam County, Illinois, where Sarahs cousins, Joseph, Augustus and Christian Cassell had all ready settled. Sarah married Joseph Marlott on June 27, 1837 in Putnam County, Illinois. They were married by J. H. Dickey.
Sarah and Joseph settled near her parents farm near Florid, Illinois. In 1850, Sarah and Joseph were still living near Florid. After Sarah's death, Joseph had remarried. It is unknown where Sarah is buried.

Jacob Byers was born on May 1, 1821 in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. He had a twin brother that died at the age of 8 years. Around 1837, his family immigrated to Florid, Putnam County, Illinois, where Sarahs cousins, Joseph, Augustus and Christian Cassell had all ready settled. Jacob married a woman named Brown in 1851 in Putnam County. Nothing else is known at this time.

3. Johan Cassel Byers
(1821-1830)
Johan Byers was born on May 1, 1821 in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. He was baptised on August 5, 1821. The sponsors at his baptism were Stephen and Salome Templin. Johan spent his short life in Lebanon County, PA. According to Jerusalem Lutheran Church records, Johan became ill 18 months before his death and died on February 10, 1830. He is possibly buried in the Jerusalem Lutheran Church cemetery.

William Byers was born on May 22, 1825 in Pennsylvania. The sponsors at his baptism were his aunt and uncle, William and Elizabeth Cassell. About 1837, his family immigrated to Florid, Putnam County, Illinois, where Williams cousins, Joseph, Augustus and Christian Cassell had all ready settled. His family purchased land near Florid where Williams father made a living as a farmer.
William married Lydia Planke in 1845 in Putnam county, Illinois. After their marriage, William and Lydia Ann settled near his parents farm near Florid, Illinois where William made a living as a laborer. By 1860, William had became a farmer . He and Lydia were still living near Florid. Nothing else is known at this time. By 1870, William was no longer living in Putnam County, Illinois. Some of William's siblings and his mother were living in Jessup, Iowa in 1876. William may have also moved there.

7. Mary Elizabeth Fowler (nee Byers)

Elizabeth Byers was born in March 13, 1832 in Lebanon County, Illinois. The sponsors at her baptism were her parents. About 1837, Elizabeth's family immigrated to Florid, Putnam County, Illinois, where Williams cousins, Joseph, Augustus and Christian Cassell had all ready settled. Her family purchased land near Florid where Williams father made a living as a farmer.
On January 14, 1849, Elizabeth married Fletcher Fowler in Granville, Putnam County, Illinois. By 1850, Elizabeth and Fletcher has moved to Dekalb, Illinois. From 1852 to 1854, they were living in LaSalle County, Illinois. By 1857, they had moved back to Dekalb, Illinois.
Sometime before 1866, Elizabeth and Fletcher moved to Muskegon, Michigan. They continued living in Michigan the remainder of their lives. Elizabeth's husband, Fletcher died in 1871. Elizabeth married Milton Raines. After Elizabeth's death in 1912, she was buried beside her first husband in the Norton Cemetery, Muskegon, Michigan.

9. Anna Catharine
Angell (nee Byers) (1836-1898)
Catharine Byers was born on February 19, 1836 in Pennsylvania. Around 1837, her family immigrated to Florid, Putnam County, Illinois, where Sarahs cousins, Joseph, Augustus and Christian Cassell had all ready settled. Catharine married William Angell in on May 1,1856 in Granville, Illinois. After their marriage, they settled in Hennepin township, Putnam County where they were living in 1860. By 1877, they had moved to Jessup, Iowa where their son William was born. Eventually Catherine and William moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan where William made Ice boxes. Catherine and William continued in live in Michigan. Catherine died in December 13, 1898. She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Muskegon, Michigan.
